I’d like to let you all know that ashappard has accepted an offer to become part of the APC staff as our newest moderator. I"ll let him introduce himself and explain his own history with regards to the hobby.

A little background on my hobby experience up to now :
As a kid I had a couple aquariums, nothing fancy - and it was enjoyable but not 'gripping'
no real exposure to planted tanks until I noticed the first AGA contest on the web. I had never seen planted tanks like that. So I was hooked and quickly had several disastrous attempts at planted tank keeping, using the reefing equipment I was already familiar with.. I didn't want to give up so I started seriously lurking aquatic forums until I found forums specific to planted tanks. They kept me not only interested but helped me succeed. Hopefully I can add positive things to the hobby by being here and thanks again for having me onboard!
