thank you all for the kind words. I have a new look with a giant rock garden in mind for the future of this tank, I will post the new look. I just need the plants to fill in allitle thicker AKA the HC is going to be the main plant used in the new scape plan so I am harvesting as much as I can for the new look.

Photography is a great way to practice depth in a composition and placing a hardscape. I love my camera......

Beautiful tank! I can't believe you're only 27! I feel very old at 29.

This is the tank I sent to ADA this year and I placed 593 in the world.

so why not use the picture to some better good. I am glad to share it with you all and I will just need to try harder next year

if they want to disqualify me this year for posting the pic then oh well I am 593 woohooo

Well, I like it!

I swear that they group tanks in 1-50 (which get judged), and then lumps of 200 tanks + a random number generator :P

Fantastic aquascape, and an excellent photograph as well. I'm curious about the photography, did you process this image in HDR, as it almost looks like a painting, verses a straight photograph? Regardless, the effect is superb. Nice job!

The photo was shot under high powered strobe lights and I/we used allot of filters and light cutoffs to make the image all untouched not even cropped. Plus the camera was increadible Hasselblad P-2 using a Zeiss 50 mm wide angle lens with a large format digital back 20+ megapixel you set all your paramiters in the digital back of the camera when it is connected to a computer for shooting the images No camera cards to save onto.

Wow! No wonder it looks professional -- it is! I'm guessing that you have all that equipment for more than just a general interest in photography? Great pictures, and congrats again on a great aquascape! I agree that the ADA rankings above 200+ are seemingly random. My tank placed 522, and I'd say yours is much more refined and original than mine. Their judging methods need some refinement. Nice work!
