Default Fertilator Upgrade!

Thanks to one of our members, Tropism, the Fertilator has recently been upgraded. A number of bug-fixes were implemented and additional proprietary fertilizers have been added to the drop-down menus. Please try it out and feel free to leave comments in the "Site Feedback" forum. We hope that all of the known bugs were eliminated. If anyone notices a feature that isn't working correctly, please leave a post in the "Fertilator upgrade" thread.

Since many of the changes are not so easy to spot, here's a list of all the changes made:

High priority changes/bug fixes:
  • Phosphate in Fleet corrected to 131.36 mg/ml from 669
  • "Calculate" button no longer clears value entered in the phosphate amount box
  • Flourish macro ferts (Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potassium) no longer report iron
  • On the "Find amount of target chemical ... " page, corrected the 'Grams or milliliters to use' value when selecting a liquid fertilizer. It was off by a factor of 100.
  • On the same page, 'PO4 in K2HPO4' was showing results for K instead of PO4. Fixed it (although admittedly, the K value was not far off from the PO4 value).
  • TSP-to-grams conversion factors (used in calculations) changed, based on these values:
    MgSO4.7H2O : 5.10 g/tsp (from 4.00 g/tsp)
    Miller Microplex : 3.90 g/tsp (from 'TE Mix' 2.60 g/tsp)
    CSM+B : 4.30 g/tsp (from 'TE Mix' 2.60 g/tsp)
  • Updated values in the "Conversion of tbs / tsp / Dash / ..." table to reflect the actual conversion factors used in calculations. This includes fixing the typo for MgSO4.7H2O (now 5.10 g/TSP instead of 14.00), and also replacing 'TE Mix' with separate entries for Miller Microplex and CSM + B.

Lesser priority and/or 'usability' changes:
  • Changed the number of items displayed in the drop-down boxes on the "Get concentrations from chemicals added" page to allow all possible sources to be displayed at once. 'Iron Fe' sized to not go beyond the bottom of the Fertilator application.
  • Removed leading zeroes from TSP values in the "Conversion of tbs / tsp / ..." table to improve readability. (With the MgSO4 typo corrected, they were no longer needed for alignment.)
  • (Really minor) corrected spellings in some places

New Fertilizer Support:
  • Seachem Equilibrium -- selectable as source of K, Ca, Mg, or Fe
  • Tropica Plant Nutrition Liquid (formerly known as Tropica Master Grow or TMG) -- reports K, Mg, Fe, but only selectable as a source of Fe. Concentrations of other elements too low to justify selecting it as a major source for those elements. (Getting to recommended concentrations would add much too much Fe and other micros.)
  • Tropica Plant Nutrition+ Liquid -- reports all but Ca (none contained), selectable as a source of NO3, PO4, and Fe.

Again, please let us know at this thread http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...-feedback.html if any problems are found or if you have suggestions.

"Phosphate in Fleet corrected to 131.36 mg/ml from 669"?? Shouldn't that be mg/L or ppm, not mg/ml? I assume this is just a typo.

Well, no, I think that's correct. I'm talking about the PO4 content of Fleet itself. If it's 131 mg/ml of Fleet, then that means that if 1 ml of Fleet was put in 1 Liter of water, you'd have 131 mg PO4 in 1 Liter (or 131 ppm PO4). I've confused myself over that a couple times already too...

Thanks for the hard work - how do I make a feature request?

It would be great if it was able to do dKh calculations for baking soda (right now, I run over to RC...).

Just a thought - and thanks again.

Thanks, these fixes are much appreciated!
I do think I found an issue though.
It looks like the decimal amounts on the smidgen, dash, etc. conversion page are off.
1/8 tsp should be .125
1/16 tsp should be .0625
1/32 tsp should be .03125

It is showing the ml equivelent for each tsp measure. 1/8 tsp is 0.125 tsp, and 0.625 ml.

Whoops, thanks for clearing that up!
