After trying to send a pm, a window popped up . It had the tittle and said


APC Messenger Error © by PcFreak
you tried to send a message and the following occurred
  • You are no registered member of Aquatic Plant Central
  • Your messenger-system is deactivated
  • the recipient of your message has blocked any incoming messages

Is this for real or a virus or something else?

All it means is that the person you tried to send it to has pop-ups blocked. You'll have to send a PM instead.

BTW, it's pretty easy to make APC an exception for pop-ups so that you don't end up filling your PM box. All the cool kids are doing it.
