I probably spend more time than I should on tank related items, but there's alot to learn about plants, fish, shrimp, photography, equipment, etc. All this research always leads me to spending more money...

Yes, yes. But it is so worth it.
Research, learn, prepare, plan, then execute plan.
Then wait with anticipation to see if it works!

Then when the wife asks what I am doing, and I actually answer and explain and the name of my buddies that helped me figure out how to do it; I get the 'look'.

i answered wrong. Seen the poll first before I read you post. I spend an hour doing research a day probably and 30 minutes on my tanks each day. Although on sundays I watch football and do all of my water changes and tank cleanings. It takes me about 4 to 6 hours on that one day. Think football slows me down a bit though LOL

Rock On Nice Poll

I use the Internet lots for planted stuff. I'm a mod on three forums and writer for Practical Fishkeeping magazine so I guess it's my "duty". I also have net access at my regular work so that helps. I spend about 20 mins a day average on my tanks.

I went for 3 hours.

Let's put it this way. My boys accuse me of spending more time paying attention to my plants than them. (Not true.) Next thing they know they are learning how to pronounce PROSERPINACA PALUSTRIS and the definition as printed out on PlantFinder. Of course the amount of science that they have learned through this hobby......

More hours per day than I want to admit to.

Research, research and more research and then finally, finally, finally, - execute plan!

I only spend about 15 min per day in general feeding and dosing, then 2 hours per larger tank (2) on their water change day, and about 45 min on the one nano, which is around 7 hours, or 1 hour per day.

Before when I was working freelance, I'd spend 2-3 hours a day on tank maintenance, watching and forums. Nowadays, I spend 15-30 minutes max a day, sometimes not even bothering at all for two-three days straight since I've started on a regular office job.

goalcreas; you spend 45 minutes per day on a Nano?

Do you have a link or thread with a photo of that?

I'd love to see what it looks like.
