What exactly is a Venturi CO2 diffusion setup? Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams of one? What equipment is used?

Mine goes into a DIY in-line reactor that is on the filter output. Even with 3-4 bubbles/sec I've never seen any bubbles escape. Of course the reactor is about 18" of 1.5" PVC...
I like it because it's easy to make, cheap, functions out of the tank and is easy to clean.

Interesting. Why didn't you like it? was it the efficiency or the bubbles?
Sorry I missed this earlier, Laith. I didn't like it because, for me, at least, I saw no difference in growth rate, no difference in amount of dissolved gas and had the extra pita of having to clean the disk periodically and another item in the tank, which I always try to minimize.

I use powerheads and attach the CO2 line to the venturi portion of the powerhead. I works like a horizontal bubble diffuser and distributes the bubbles evenly throughout the tank. Granted, I use this method only on my farm tanks where eye sores aren't an issue.

Otherwise I like feeding directly into the filter inlet.

I use a little power head (actually just a submersible pump), with the CO2 line shoved into the inlet grill. It produces microscopic bubbles I can barely see, keeps the ppm up where I want it and spreads bubbles throughout the tank. By late afternoon everything is heavily pearling.

I've tried pretty much everything. Right now, I'm running glass diffusers placed under the inflow of my Eheim canister filters. I tried misting with glass diffusers and small pumps but I don't like the bubbles.

I have tried a bunch of things.

1) the bell. Didn't work well and excess co2 just bubbled out the side. Didn't disolve fast enough.

2) in filter inlet. This worked well, but my cannister got really really noisey. Do others who do the inlet thing have a cannister filter and does it get noisey for you? (lots of air in the filter)

3) micro-bubbles blown into output. I use a wood airstone as I find the glass one gets gunked up with this clear crud and the mist isn't as fine as the wood. $3 piece of wood does the job amazingly.
