I have at list 3 tanks with PC's, 1 with VHO (nice!), 2 with flourecents/T5 and 3 with HQI. I will soon add more tanks since I just moved to a new place but I am using HQi / PC combinations for the most part in at list 3 more tanks.

I made a DIY lighting setup with 2 incandecent pigtail 26 watts flourecents on my 30 gallon. So right now I have a total of 52 watts. I put that fixture on the right side of the tank. I still have room to put another 2 pigtails on the other side. Cost me about $27.

This poll is a good idea, but is too limited to be useful for me. I can only make one choice and the choice list isn't long enough.

My nominations for choices include:
* Incandescent (the original!)
* Metal halide
* Mercury vapor
* Sodium (hydroponic, greenhouse)
* Fluorescent VHO "old style high output"
* Fluorescent Power Compact
* Fluorescent normal driven T12, T8 "Regular flourescents"
* Fluorescent over driven T12, T5, T8 "Regular output bulbs over driven"
* Fluorescent T5, T6 normal driven "Next generation economy"
* Fluorescent T5 HO "Next generation high output"
* LED
* Natural sunlight

From the extended list, I use six choices:
* Fluorescent Power compacts (aquarium and hydroponics bulbs)
* Fluorescent normal driven T8
* Fluorescent over driven T8
* Fluorescent T5
* Fluorescent T5 HO
* Natural sunlight
