I change 10%-15% of my tank water every week and give the old water to my houseplants, but once I changed over to the El Natural method, I will reduce this amount or only do it once a month or so, which fits my lazy nature better.

Usually water changes are extremely rare for me, but I no longer like the look of the tanned water and have started doing about 20% per week or so.

Do you not have fish? How do you get by with no water changes?

I change 50% weekly on my planted tank and 50% bi weekly on my 75 gallon SA cichlid tank. Weekly works great for my planted tank because of my fert schedule. Ferts mon-sat, water change on sunday. Water in all my tanks is very clear and my plants are doing really good.

I'm rather lazy with water changes. I try to change water once a month, but sometimes life gets in the way and my tanks end up going longer without changes. However, it all works out as I have high plant mass and extremely low stocking levels in my tanks.

I do 50% water changes on all my aquariums. I do not think fish should have to live in dirty water.

I try to do 50% water changes weekly on 3 10 gallon tanks and 1 20 gallon tank to which I do EI dosing. I have a 100 gallon tank with a soil substrate where I may add water to it once in a while. My tanks are densely planted, have pressurized CO2 and all are lightly stocked (100 gallon tank is the heaviest stocked tank with 5 cardinal tetras and two siamese algae eaters.

I have two 30gal tanks and a 5 gallon bucket.
I water change 2 buckets per week normally, (33%)
and 3 buckets only if the tank had any problems
that required vacuuming or filter media rinsing. (50%)
both tanks are underfed and under populated,
which probably helps me get away with this.
