Close your eyes. Picture a beautiful planted aquarium. Is it have driftwood, rocks or both?

For me, I like rocks more than driftwood, but both of them combined seems more natural.

It is easier to go with only one of them. The combination of rocks and wood needs more skill and vision. I am surprised that many people voted for the combination. Is it a reflection of the possessed skill level or just a desire?

That would depend on the effect wanted, wouldn't it?
I am not much of an aquascaper, but I find a single material a lot easier to work with in any given tank.
