Are there any other shipping options that would be less, like FedEx or a flat rate box? |

Plant Points: 3750 | I use UPS, but they've been less than desirable lately. I have a hard time getting to the post office during the day, so UPS is the next alternative.
And they are heavy. Several pounds each. I would have bought lighter pieces of dwood, but they were just so AWESOME!
I'll check into USPS Priority. Thanks for the heads up. |

Plant Points: 3750 | Ai, boogers! USPS is half the price, even on Priority! I'll adjust that right now...
Auctions edited, thank you Jan!

I guess UPS has gone up, now that you mention it. I know someone who just sent a lighting unit UPS ground and it cost well over $100. |

iTrader Positive Rating: 100% Plant Points: 1000019336 | All the major carries except for the USPS have a mechanism where they tack on a fuel surcharge when the price of crude oil exceeds a set point. The policy of all the railroads is that the surcharge will be adjusted up or down 0.4% for every dollar increase or decrease in oil prices above $23/barrel. These charges are determined monthly based on the thirty-day average price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil.
UPS' Current Fuel Surcharge Rate:
Ground
Through June 5, 2005: 2.50%.
Effective June 6, 2005: 2.75%.
Air and International
Through June 5, 2005: 9.50%.
Effective June 6, 2005: 9.50%.
The surcharge is based on the National U.S. Average On Highway Diesel Fuel Prices reported by the U.S. Department of Energy for the month that is two months prior to the adjustment. The starting point is $1.50 gallon, over that the surcharge kicks in.
FEDEX currently at 11%
This percentage will be determined each month using published tables and will be based on a rounded average of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel, published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. The starting point is $0.61 gallon, over that the surcharge kicks in.
Probably a LOT more then you ever wanted to know about Carrier Fuel Surcharge Rates and Policies. |

| The flat box will hold a full bag of Flourite, Eco-Complete or ADA Aquasoil. The squarish box will hold 22 or so pounds of Flourite removed from original packing and placed in a lined box. |
