Penac W and Penac P added
FYI- I just added Penac W and Penac P to the site. There is no extended description or anything as I really don't want to get into all that on this product. I simply offer it for those who have some sense about what it is and would like to try it or for those who have been using it already and need to order more.

Re: Penac W and Penac P added
Based on the instruction provided, and also based on Amano himself as well as other scapers(myself included), simply lightly sprinkle all over the tank with it. Try to make an even spread on the bottom, as in on the bottom glass. I can only say it works

Re: Penac W and Penac P added
Found this print out. It was supposed to be from the bag.
Penac W/for aquarium
Penac W/for aquarium is a product specially designed for aquarium use by Plocher Vertriebs GmbH, Germany, based on its PLOCHER ENERGY SYSTEM. By sustaining the original oscillatory pattern of water, Penac W /for aquarium reactivates the aquarium water and stimulates the activities of aerobic bacteria which are essential for the balanced conditions within an aquarium. Applying Penac W/ for aquarium in the substrate at the setup, increases the amount of dissolved oxygen and activates the aerobic bacteria within the substrate. As a result, the hardening of the substrate is prevented and amount of sludge decreases, which makes long term maintenance possible.
Usage
Using the supplied spoon in the package, simply add one level spoon (approximately 2 g) of Penac W / for aquarium for 60 lit. of aquarium water at every water change or regularly at an interval no longer than 4 weeks.
When applying to the substrate at setup, sprinkle Penac W/for aquarium evenly at the very bottom of the aquarium tank, beneath Power Sand, bacter 100, or Aqua Soi. The recommended dosage is : 3 level spoons for 60 lit. aquarium, 9 level spoons of 180 lit. aquarium and so on.
Cautions
The aquarium water becomes cloudy when Penac W/for aquarium is added directly. This is normal. With a filter functioning properly, this cloudiness disappears shortly
It is recommendable to remove excessive silt or sludge on the substrate on in the filter prior to the application of Penac W/for aquarium.
Store Penac W/for aquarium always dry on a wooden shelf or a board.

Re: Penac W and Penac P added
yeah i don't know of many people that use penac. you can keep beautiful tanks without it so why pay the extras money for something that really isn't necessary. people have to realize Amano isn't just an aquarist hes a business man. He has his own brand of expensive ADA wine.

That is very true. One can have beautiful tanks without using ADA stuff. It is but another option for people to choose from. You wanna see a variety of similar products, just go to Japan. The choices over yonder is simply crazy, in a good way of course.

Re: Penac W and Penac P added
Forgive me for expanding on this, Jeff.
Please don't discard this product and it's line as snake oil. It does have a positive effect on your plants and aquarium, in general.
Bentonite is being used as an amendment in crop growing. It functions as a nutrient storehouse in our substrates being that it has high cation exchange capacity.
Well, we really should start a topic on this in one of the general discussion forums.
