Default Amano and CO2
If I remember correctly, Amano turns off his CO2 at night, is this right?

Turn CO2 1 hour before ligh on and turn it off before ligh off an hour.

Yes, CO2 off at night + aeration, usually via raised outflow Lily Pipe.
