Plant Points: 20690 | ADA USA online catalog at aquariumdesigngroup.com Just wanted to let everyone know that the ADA online catalog is up at www.aquariumdesigngroup.com. There are good product descriptions and pricing for just about everything (any item without a price is probably one where we are waiting for information from Japan- sorry, it's doesn't mean it's free!) For now we are only taking phone and e-mail orders and I will walk anyone ordering through the payment process. Online ordering will be available real soon as well. PLease feel free to contact me directly with any and all questions. All the contact info. is there on the site. Enjoy.

iTrader Positive Rating: 100% Plant Points: 18290 | Looks good Jeff!
Pricing on some stuff looks pretty good while others are lower than I had expected.
Trimming Scissors for $113 ....  amp;
The substrates in particular look good though!
Eco-complete has about 5.9L/20lb bag
Flourite has 7.3L/7kg bag |

iTrader Positive Rating: 100% Plant Points: 72420 | Prices for many things look much lower than I expected, especially substrates.
Jeff,
I think that it'd be good to have a few articles with guidelines about using this or that substrate. Maybe about rinsing, amount needed, placement etc. Any plans to provide such info?

iTrader Positive Rating: 100% Plant Points: 6365 | I think the price of $113 for the scissors is actually in line with the price of new comparable quality and size medical scissors. |

Plant Points: 20690 | Sorry for any confusion with navigation of the site, etc. I really wanted to get it up ASAP so folks could start having a look and getting a feel for pricing. I have tried to go rock-bottom margins on the Substrate System as to initially make it more accessable to everyone because I feel it is so unique and so exceptional that it could really increase the overall U.S. presence in the hobby. Not to mention it will work perfectly with any equipment/installation- not just with ADA stuff. If there's one thing that we can use here it's the substrate! So I 'd like to not necessarily make a bunch of money on it at first, and help get it in to the country as more of a standard.
NIKO,
Yes, I would love to do an article on substrate applications/usage and will begin working on it immediately. I will post it no later than Monday. Excellent idea and thank you very much for the suggestion. I would also add that 2 tanks I set up one week ago today- one full ADA (90cm here at ADG) and one with only ADA substrate, no other ADA products- have exhibited some of the fastest stabilization and growth of any tank I have done before. The tanks are both emanating a feeling of good well-being also. I know that may sound a little "hokie" or subjective, but there is something genuine about this substrate and its ultimate affect on the aquarium as a whole that is really different than anything I have used before. PLease keep any questions/inquiries coming. |

Plant Points: 20690 | Also, on items like the trimmers/tools- there is quite a range of sizes and 2 different quality options offered by ADA. Anything in the "higher" price range is "PRO-SERIES" or ultra high-quality, EKS German stainless-steel made product. This is surgical grade, very sharp and very nice. I have been using these tools for 3 years now and I can tell you honestly that under normal usage, these are the last layout tools you will ever need to buy. The non-German (not EKS-Solingen) line is good, but not great and comparable to other tools I've seen available in the U.S. already. I will soon have a more detailed break-down of the entire Layout Tool line up on the site. My webmaster is out of town until after Christmas so bear with me until then on any issues with the site. |

Plant Points: 20690 | Also, please note that where it says "coming soon" next to the price, that just means online ordering option is coming soon, not necessarily the product itself as we will be placing the order with Japan based on actual orders we have for the product. In other words, product is available for order now but just by e-mail or phone. I'm excited by the orders I have already received! |

iTrader Positive Rating: 100% Plant Points: 20860 | Great stuff Jeff! The substrates are reasonably priced. But how do you calculate how many bags you need? For example, it says a 6L bag of PowerSand for aquariums 40-60cm in height; is that a misprint, did you mean length? Are these measurements in ADA aquarium dimensions? What size would a 9L bag of AquaSoil be used for? |
