Haha, yeah I know.

The good and bad thing about the Aquarium Design Store is that we're doing it 100% out of our own cash flow - the good is that we will have zero debt to repay on the whole space. The Bad is that it takes just a little bit longer to get everything up and rolling.

Put it this way - The Co2 system, the triple deck planted holding system and filtration is filled with water, ready to go, and our lights arrive on Monday.

Plus we have a new cool line coming in pretty soon.

What plants in particular are you looking for?

well im looking for loads of plants i can only really find trading on APC.

im living in kansas (from houston) and recently visited hawaii and went to AQUASCAPES...

they have loads of plants in there stock that i have never seen sold in stores only traded online. there prices were a bit high on everything sold there (might be due to shipping to the store passed on to the customer)

fish inc in houston usually has a pretty decent pick

but what im looking for is a store that has a comprehensive stock of plants used in todays hobby without putting up WANTED adds in the sales forum only to actually find that plant and the person that is selling it, is selling it at an outragous price to quantity ratio. or i get a box of mush cause they dont know how to package plants. (example Syngonanthus sp. 'Belem' listed $23 per stem.) no kidding i did see that once. i mean i know it is an expensive plant but that is retarded.

my list is so long that i dont wanna get into it...... but ok you talked me into it
to name a few:
Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides
Hydrocotyle verticillata
more of the uncommon ferns and mosses (ie weeping moss or trident ferns or mini pellia)
ludwigia inclinata species
Syngonanthus species
tonina species
some of the more uncommon rotala species (example rotala mini type 2)
Polygonum species
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Ranunculus inundatus

this is just a few of the more uncommon plants in the hobby that can more or less only be found by trading with fellow hobbyist. and while it does allow me limited acces to these plants i would like to see a dealer that has more complete stock of plants at a fair price. (not cheap, but fair) this is why im so excited to see AGD is going to sell plants cause im willing to bet that your plant display will look like someing close to a tropica display. (i dont by from tropica cause of shipping and conversion cost) and i dont have to worry about shipping issues or melted plants or retarded prices. all of your other products are top knotch and your customer service is also.... that means i should accept nothing less in your NEW plant department. if you were to pass this thread onto Mike and Jeff i have no doubt that they would agree.

im excited about this

"Plus we have a new cool line coming in pretty soon." (what is the new line that your getting?)

thanks
Elliot

While I can't guarantee that we can get every rare species, I can guarantee that we'll have a premium stock and that the packaging, et cetera will be done properly by people who know what they are doing.
I don't know if we'll ever be able to match all the rare plant variety that is in say, Hong Kong (mostly due to rigid import restrictions on anything alive coming to the US and specifically Texas - there were some updated ban laws on 'invasive' species that include quite a few aquatic plants, so obviously if it's listed there we can't sell it).

I do know though, that the planted section is going to be pretty wild - we've got three panoramic holding system aquariums that contain 180 gallons of water each and are 96 inches across. All 100% dedicated to plants. Future plans also include emmersed grown options and some pretty rockin display concepts for those! We just got the lighting in this week for the system - all LED lights. In addition to normal stock, we'll probably get the oddball trimmed plant or rescaped plant varieties as extra that will be in there (for example if we redo one of the planted layouts and decide not to use any of those plants again, they'll most likely go in the holding system for sale).

So, I'll let your imagination run wild for just a little bit longer - not to make any promises, but if you have special requests, we can probably get them when we get that system completely up.

As far as the "new product line" is concerned - I can't say what it is yet, but you'll love it. You won't have to worry about snails or algae hitch-hiking on these.

TC'd Plants or dry goods is the only thing that matches that description... can you at least tell us if the new product line is living or not?

HOLY CRAP I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GETTING!!!! they are getting the new invitro tropica series.

the reason this is important is because invitro is growin in a steril environment and this will allow their plants to come to america.

so when you said algea and snail free you gave it away man.

please tell me im correct!!!!????!!!! it hit me today when i was skimming through the new post and saw one on invitro plants.
