Default Plants for river in Paludarium

Hi, what plants would you all recomend for a 4 of 5 inch wide, 4 or 5 inch deep river water feature in a paludarium. Im hopping to be able to keep some small fish in here, and I want them to feel comfy. I still havent made this river yet, but I will once I start setting up my tank. Thanks.

Perhaps a ground cover like Glossostigma? Can you give more specifics about leaf size, shape, texture, etc...that you are looking for?

That's an absolutely perfect environment for Anubias. Cryptocoryne would also like something like that.

Well I have a similar environment in a 29 gallon tank. I have Anubias barterii growing with only its roots submerged, its doing great and the flowers bloom ever month. I got something that looks like a mini aloe, without the spines, the leaves look like grass blades, but they all come from the same stalk. Its doing ok, nothing prolific, half of it is above the water. And I got a cryptocoryne wendetii which would do well if I could keep either the algea under control or the Salvinia from blocking the light.

The crypto has had bad luck. At first it started out great. It was taking over and looked great. Then algea started growing all over the place, and I had snails all over. I cleaned the algea from the tank, and left the snails. Next morning, the snails were all over the bits and pieces that were left of the crypto. Its been slowly coming back, and I put duckweed and salvinia, and floating fern to keep the algea under control. Its helped but now there isnt enough light to get to the crypto.

So, I was wondering what other plants there were that I might have better luck with, I was hoping that my 55 gallon project would end up with more than 3 inches of water. My 29 only has 1 1/2".

Thanks.

thanks dmartin, how did you ever guess thats what I had. I think you are right, I will try to find more of that and plant my 55 tank with those and Crypto. I will try to use Anubias as shore line plant.
