What do you think about this rock placement? What should I change? I know the rocks are ugly, and sorry for the photo quality.

well..if you're going to grow stuff over the rocks then it really doesn't matter that much..
the hardscape looks fine to me.. its more a choice of plant selection now..

The rocks aren't that ugly. Are you going to cover it with moss? How much rocks are there? To me I like it when rocks are spread out, but I guess that's just a personal preference

ranmasatome I was planning only glosso in this tank. It is very small and I don't want to have many plants there. But I will think about it. jeff63851 There are 7 rocks in this tank. They are ugly, believe me but I hope they will cover with algae, because I am not going to plant moss or something. I was thinking about fish. Tank is about 20lts. Maybe 2-3 guppies?? What do you suggest?

I think the rocks will look great once the glosso grows in. I do agree that they may look better spread out. Try the golden ratio and i think you'll like what you see. Just my opinion.

If you are planning on 2-3 guppies in such a small tank make sure they are all males or soon you will have 200-300 guppies... little buggers reproduce like something else! Personally though I don't like guppies very much and I don't think that they would make any kind of aesthetic contribution to this tank... iwagumis are generally tranquil looking setups, guppies tend to 'flutter' about and would probably break up the serenity... you might consider looking into some schooling fishes, like rasboras or tetras.

I'm thinking micro rasboras would be nice in here, they are pretty small and if you can find them would do well... if not them you could probably get some harlequin rasboras, which are orange/red and black and would look great not only against the green of the plants but go well with the blackish-ness of the rocks... which by the way I think are very pretty because they are ugly, a nice contrast to the plants.

Hi again. As I said few more photos. Please help me to choose the best background. Scape is now 14 days old Glosso filled in a little. Today I began fertilizing - 0,3ml of TMG. raven_wilde I thought of course about male guppies, but they are no longer actual Rasboras will be probably hard to buy... But what do you think about Paracheirodon Simulans? And here are the photos of the tank:

You could try lamp eye killies. Tiny little guys (~1" or so) and will school nicely. The glosso is starting to fill in and your scape is taking some form -- good job! Just one question -- there looks like some black stuff on the glosso in some areas. Is that algae (BBA or otherwise)? Make sure you're pumping Co2 in there as that will not only wipe out any algae, but the glosso growth will explode. Great start! Is this a 5g tank?
