Default Nature Aquarium Eye Candy

In honor of Amano coming to the AGA Convention this year, here are a few samples of Nature Aquariums. These pictures are from a site in Japan called Agua Journal and are copyrighted by them. Please check them out.

In the last two pictures there is some kind of glass device attached to the right side of the aquarium. It looks like a small flask-like bulb with a neck that bends like an upside down U. The bulb has some kind of liquid in it, but the neck is full of air. I'm guessing---is it some kind of CO2 level indicator? Is there a dye in the bulb, such as brom thymol blue?

I believe that is the ADA brand CO2 quick indicator, similiar to the other ones on the market like the eheim one. I believe they do use bromthymol blue, at least the liquid in my little bottle looks like it...

Now that I see how the thing works, I think I can make myself one from a big test tube and a small test tube.
