Hey guys;
I'm planning out my tank that I want to setup. It will be a 55 gallon tank. My professor gave me these rocks that are in the pictures. I've had them soaking for nearly a week now in water. Some of them are decently large, as I have a (one of the best albums made by the best band ever) CD included in the picture for size reference (cd is like 5.25" I think).
For additional information, I'm going to be using pure eco-complete (already ordered, so I can't really change this), and I will probably have a black background, either painted on the back of the glass, or one of the DIY rock backgrounds. I could change the color of the background, as nothing is written in stone (pun!) yet.
So, I was hoping to get you guys' and gals' comments on these rocks, if you think they would look ok on a black substrate with possibly a black background (background is changeable). Also, I do like driftwood, these types:
Would the rocks I posted pictures of mix well with that type of driftwood? And what type of plants would you suggest? I was thinking of ordering the "sword package" that robert has here at aquabotanic. Would that be enough plants to fill a 55? For additoinal information, the tank will have 4x55w lighting (possibly 4x65, not 100% sure, regardless, it will be at least 4pwg) and pressurized CO2.
And, I want to apologize in advance for the poor quality pictures of my rocks. I'm using a Kodak EasyShare CX6230 that came free with my laptop, it claims to be 2 megapixels, but it takes the absolute worst quality pictures. And I would also like to thank you guys in advance for helping me out and giving any suggestions.
Thank you kindly, and here are the rock pictures.
