My first real planted tank. 10 Gallons, 1x36 watt AHsupply, EI dosing. I think ive got the basics down, but im still working on the finer points... such as algae control, lol.

Any Suggestions?

Here it is. If you look closely you can see the algae pearling

Another one.

Glosso coming in.

thanks for looking.

Its looking really nice. Looks a lot bigger than 10 gallon. Great driftwood...once the glosso fills in it will look even better. Its funny that the algae is pearling, but not so funny at the same time. I used to have staghorn in my 10 and it was pearling too so I can relate

Haha, well im not exactly sure its pearling or if it just traps bubbles from time to time. Was meant to be funny either way

The left driftwood i bought, its malaysian.

The right driftwood I found when i was fishing a couple weeks ago.

I'm looking forward to seeing it in a month - the setup is nice and we are both working on 10s so I'll keep you posted...

what are your tank specs?

I feel it would work better if the right driftwood wasn't so abrupt.. lay it sideways or just not vertical.. personal opinion.

I agree with ranmasatome, but I know why you placed it that way! The under water bridge. Try laying it on the side, but put a nice bushy plant to "close" the gap on the end of the hole on the driftwood like this:

I also wook look cool if there was some moss hanging from the top part of the bridge, drooping down to the bottom part. Just an idea.

Hmm thanks for the input guys. Ive been wanted to experiment with the driftwood. But it still has a tendency to float. The way it is now the top is against my hood so it wont float The bottom is actually connected and looks pretty nice, but right now its the only way i can keep the driftwood off the surface.

tanks specs other than what i listed in first post are DIY CO2 and 15lbs eco-complete. 1x36w 5500k 11 hour photoperiod.
