Hey all, we dressed our apartment up for the holidays and my roommate took a few pictures of my tank with her nice camera that I wanted to share. Comments or critiques are welcome!

Beautiful tank! I like the blue background even though I usually don't. I think it works well against the plants and discus. Have you considered letting the right side of the mound growing taller so that it would have a little more slope and be less of a rectangle? It would be nice to slope the stem plants in the back to separate them from the swords and break up the mound a little bit. This tank is very Dutch, so you should let each plant hold it's own.

Thanks! I am definitely going Dutch with this tank. You know, I got a blue background because that was what was available. In person, it's a much darker, more navy blue. The flash of the camera really brought out its true color. I didn't notice that when I uploaded the pics!

I'm not sure what you mean about the stem plants though. I should create a slope from the top right corner down to the swords? Or create a slope from front to back in each stand? Either way, I'm still learning how to trim stems to accomplish that type of effect, so any advice would be heeded.

Very pretty tank! Nice work

I've realized that I only truly like a blue background when there are discus in the tank. The two go together very well, IMO.
