I'm going to have to go with Iwagumi. I think my tank is a Japanese/plant showcase. But my next tank will definetly be a Iwagumi, just looks so simple, classy, and clean.

Dutch, but not Dutch according to their strict rules. Solitary groupings of plants with wide variations in texture, size, & color of leaves are nice. I do like to add hardscape elements and some of ideas from the newer forms of 'scaping though.

I picked iwagumi because it's what really drew me into the hobby. I mean I really enjoy other aquascapes as well, but my first love was on page 90 of Nature Aquarium Book 1.

I did enjoy Aquarium Beautiful (Dutch), it certainly had some great pictures. Second book I read and it opened my eyes to the many possibilities that lay in aquascaping.

Dutch aquascapes were what first drew me to planted tanks and, when well-executed, are still among the most impressive tanks that I've seen, although I am also amazed by some of the tanks that have finished in the ADA contest top-ten in the last few years. Frode Roe's 1st-Place/Best of Show and 2nd-Place Dutch-style tanks in the 2000 AGA International Aquascaping Contest are true inspirations to me. The incredible color and texture contrasts as well as the layouts are still my favorites. In fact I think I like his 2nd-place tank more than his 1st-place finisher:

Iwagumi and Dutch are both what got me into the hobby so I can't really decide between the two. Oddly enough, my tank is neither.
