Default Staining driftwood

Is there any way to stain lighter driftwood dark without hurting the aquarium?

Maybe food coloring? I'm not sure. I would think that anything labeled as a wood stain would be harmful for an aquarium.

im thinking tea would just leach out of the wood again. I'd be careful of adding anything to the wood, b/c ultimately it could leach into the water. Your best bet is to find wood that you already like the color of.

Your driftwood, no matter how light it is, will turn darker after you submerge it in the aquarium. It usually only takes a few weeks for it to get pretty dark. I know my manzanita went from a light blonde color to a dark brown in a couple of weeks.
