Default Re: How can I make a deep substrate??

I was thinking about this last night. Many people use those egg crate light things to build up depth and put substrate on top of those. I was wondering about plastic milk bottles filled with water - or big rocks underneath to build it up.

Mike Senske did a beautiful scape with ADA A.S. built up to a incredible level of almost 12" in the back. He had it set up for many months with no issues. He didn't have lots of fish. I think that may be the part of the anaerobic puzzle that we sometimes miss.
