Default New layout

It's supposed to look like a deserted island type thing...
Thinking about starting off with either dwarf hairgrass and/or lilaeopsis for the base area to look like the jungle.
Some moss on the cracks of the rock.
Still need some lava rocks to cover the base

Opinions welcomed.

Just thinking outlouad, I can see some Anubias 'petite' along the edge of the island, some Blyxa, maybe a few stems of something colorful behind the rock....

I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Perhaps try rotating it a little so it doesn't draw the eye so horizontally across the tank to give it a greater sense of depth.

Rock around the base sounds good; don't just outline the whole thing though. Perhaps use it to cover one or both of the cut ends?

I'll give the blyxa a try. I can't seem to grow them in any of my other tanks though.

I rotated the rock a little so the edges aren't so vertical now.

I just planted the hairgrass to keep the soil from falling.

Thank you for the ideas I'll try and get more pics when I get more done.

Update of the island and try number 2 after and earlier disaster (tank cracked).
Still needs a little more work like more lava rocks and "trees".

Need some opinions and feedback...
