Default Help identifying plant

hi, total newbie here. this is my first of many questions to come! can anyone please help identify this plant? the one in the foreground in the detail pic and it's the one on the left in the tank pic. the basic info, I have it growing in a 3g tank with caribsea eco-complete substrate. no co2. lighting is a 10 watt marineland 5100K natural daylight compact fluorescent. malaysian drift wood and a piece of lace rock. I bought it 5 months ago when I got the tank to save a betta from the tiny bowl he came in, a friends gift to my son. now I'm as interested in a proper aquascape as I am in keeping the fish healthy. I've been reading as much as I can to catch up and care for the tank I put together,a bit hastily, hence the unkown plant. though I believe I did cycle it properly before adding fish. I just planted HC plugs along the foreground (not pictured), and in the background are a few water wisteria. I no longer have the lace leaf. I use a red sea nano filter. no carbon filter. also, I'm afraid I have too large a fish population so, I'm beginning to plan the next larger tank to get that sorted out. the current population consists of 1 male betta, 1 cory catfish, 3 neon tetras. thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

The one on the left looks like Hygrophila corymbosa "Angustofolia"

The one in the foreground in the second px is a Aponogeton Madacasgariences aka Madacasfar lace.

Both of these plants get quite large. Your light is low so I don't think you'll have to worry too much for a while. They'll grow slowly. I doubt you'll be able to grow the HC with only a 10watt bulb. I'd put a root tab by your Madagascar lace plant. They are heavy root feeders. I've found with mine that if I keep it supplied with root tabs it doesn't go dormant.

thanks. that's just what I wanted to find out. I didn't really know the plants before planting and am now reconsidering them all for size and all. I already have removed the lace plant from the foreground, though it was growing well. I think I might get lighting that will be most appropriate for the HC and then replant around that . though the angustofolia is my betta's favorite place to float and rest. perhaps if I keep up with trimming, do you think it will stunt it's growth in a healthy and attractive enough way?

Trimming is fine. This is a plant that grows large. It's usually kept in tanks like 75g and up!

thanks for your help. I just found the recommended nano plant list that gf225 posted. super helpful. I've got a way to go. is there a section of this formum that might have specific light recommendations for my 3gallon? I'd love to accomodate the HC.
