Default Is it taboo to enter a tank into multiple contests?

I was having a discussion about this with a friend and I thought I'd bring it out to everyone to add inside.

Lets consider 2004. You create a very nice 10g aquascape that has rotala (hehehe). Is it considered bad form to enter this tank into the 2004 ADA, AGA and IA contests?

Lets discuss this

Absolutely not. Is it wrong for an Olympic athlete to compete in anything but the Olympics? For t.v. shows to win an Emmy and a Teen Choice Award.

It would be silly to enter the same tank in the same competition in consecutive years.

If I enter a tank that competes with yours, and yours wins because I obviously suck at aquascaping...

Anyway...I would want to do my best to set up a tank prior to the next competition and pit it against yours.

Keeping with the athletics theme...Matt Biondi and Alexander Popov or Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. Eventually the champion is going to lose. I want to be the one that brings him down.

I like seeing the same tank entered into multiple competitions. It's interesting to see how different sets of judges receive the scape.

However, I find it kind of dissapointing to see someone enter their scape two years in a row with little change to the layout.

I will say that it depends. What if you only have one tank? then it will be OK, but what if you have many more and they are all nicely aquascaped . Then there is a decision to be made, but if you have a kick tail design I will stick to it.
My two cents

I would only enter one tank design once per contest.

So no previous year's enteries to same contest.
You should be able to enter the same tank in many contest, unless the contest owner decides against that.

Tom Barr
