Youre right. By no means am i trying to say nitrates are the only reason for algae. It could be 100 different combinations of things that could lead to an algal bloom. But the aqaua soil I've used once before. And when the ammonia spike from the soil was over, I was left with a nitrate reading of around 90 no matter how many water changes I did. Caused hair algae to spread like wild fire. So just stating it could be ONE of many factors to check for.

My Slimy algae has started declining and plants are growing in their routine. I was able to take pics of some tiny white insects today. If anybody could tell, what are they? I think they started showing after adding ada amazoinia.

Are they harmful to my tank? Then please show me the cure to remove them.

yes i have few fishes left. 2 sulphie tetra, 1 neon tetra, 1 molly & 1 guppy. 7 of my neon tetras have died due to extreme summer heat. My room temp. goes to 33-37 C in noon. But now I have installed overhead cooling fan on the tank to maintain temp from 25-27 c.

Ok so I did some research and found out these things are called seed shrimp. They are completely harmless and best part.....the fish will eat them! So cut way back on feeding and the fish will probably finish them off
