Default MTS and making a mound

This is my first time using MTS and im following the directions and going to have 1" of soil and a 1" pool filter sand cap but i want to make one side of the tank elevated 1" higher than the rest, should I just make my pool filter sand cap 2" deep in that area??

Yes, don't make the soil deeper. Finer particles will always settle to the bottom of a tank.
