Question Substrate divider?

Anyone have any ideas suggestions for a way to divide my aquasoil from sand? This tank will have a foreground of sand and would like to prevent the two from mixing. I'm thinking of a 1 1/2" x 4' strip of something maybe plastic or something. My only worry is long term leaching of chemicals from the strip has anyone ever tried this or know of something similar which would work? Many thanks in advance!

Thanks! I was worried about chemicals leaching from plastic and was reminded on another forum that a lot of filter parts are made from regular plastic. So, I'm gonna use some trimmed to size gardening dividers. Thank you for the advice.

How about stones and wood/branches?

Yo-Han thanks for the reply. Rocks and branches are good for masking the divider but, I'm looking for something to keep the two products from mixing over time. The rocks and branches, over time, will allow the two to seep through as it is not a solid divider. Thank you again!
