Our February meeting will be to a local aquarium, I think All Pets Club (1167 North Colony Road, Wallingford Center, CT) will be a nice place for us to meet they have a nice selection of fish, and plants. There is also a little coffee shop just up the road that we can all go to as well afterward.
People can meet at my house (by about 1 pm) if they want to carpool to the pet shop. Otherwise lets meet up at the pet shop at 2 pm.

Waiting to hear back from Whit at Westport Aquarium about whether he's placing an order for fish/shrimps/whatever from me this weekend. If I can come to the meeting, though, I'll be with the carpooling crew - I don't feel like driving to Wallingford by myself. Kristina I know will not be coming, she's going on a snowboarding trip this weekend.
I also just found out about a new(ish?) fish store in Norwalk called Exotic Aquatics. Since they're having a 25% off sale this week, I want to go visit and see what they're all about (and whether they'll buy stuff from me).
Sooooo....yeah. Busy weekend all around. Need to get some sleep for that, so I'm going to bed now. Nighty night.... |

Sorry I wasn't there, I did end up having to drop stuff off at Westport. But did All Pets have anything cool? Anything I should go check out in the near future?
In other news, the Norwalk shop I mentioned (Exotic Aquatics) turned out to be a total dive. Not only is it tiny and poorly maintained (and overpriced for that matter), but the guy at the counter when we were there was sound asleep - didn't even stir the whole time we were there. And you guys know me, and my sister Mimi - we are not quiet people LOL. |

The shop had most of the usual fish and critters, though I did see a tank with assassin snails for 2.99 each :O I think you've got some competition Amanda! I nearly bought some since the 3 I got from you haven't bred yet, but then I decided to wait.
The shop had a lot of fish tank related stuff though, some really nice wood, rock, etc... They also had a Chinchilla and some friendly parrots that ate one of my coat buttons! |

As for the assassins... $2 a pop still beats $2.99 lol. And I have more babies on the way - saw a couple of 2mm little guys crawling around yesterday. Probably snacking on the offspring of the trumpet snails I stole from you last month, LOL. And, of course, for every baby snail I see, there are probably 10 more hiding in the gravel somewhere.
You're going to choke the parrots if you keep feeding them buttons. o_O Poor little guys. Chinchillas, on the other hand, are strange little fuzzy things. I place them in roughly the same category as gerbils... i.e. fuzzy rays that aren't nearly as cool as fish. |
