Re: 4dkh solution I'll be using a small volume of water (maybe a cup) and a TDS meter. With RO/DI water, we can just add pinch by pinch of NaHCO3. When the TDS meter hits the right PPM value, we have the exact solution. TDS meter will be much more accurate than cheap scales and dilutions. This is how I set my 50G tank to exactly 5dkH when I set it up, just on a larger scale.
If we were using calcium carbonate, it would be 71.43ppm for an exact 4dKH solution. I have to do the math to figure out what the ppm reading should be when using sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). I think it should be 120ppm exactly, but I need someone to check my math. |
