I wanted to figure out my lighting options for a tank I've been working on for a classroom.
It is a 30 gal tall, filled with about 25 gals. I want to make it a riparium eventually so a pendant style is probably what I'm looking for. Metal halides are not out of the question, currently I use a 20 inch PC Coralife with a 6700k bulb that is 96 watts. I just don't think its cutting it at the bottom of the tank, so I'm thinking metal halides might be the way to go? Thoughts?
Also the only other problem was that I was not wanting to do CO2 injection.
Maybe Niko can rig me up some T5's? I'd need probably 6 with single reflectors very closely packed.
Tank dimensions are 24 1/4" x 12 1/2" x 24 3/4"
Oh and the only deal is I want to suspend the light about 6" off the top of the tank, so we are talking 30" of light penetration plus some scatter, I'm thinking halides.... didn't want to spend that much
