heres my Q. im setting up a 75 gal fresh water planted tank with dirt sub. and was wondering if 165 gph from an Eheim 2215 clasic would provide enuf cictulation. i curently have a mag 350 on my existing 30gal and it doesent seem to have good enuf flow to keep algie off the plants, even thow it's sposted to have a flow of 350. can any one shed some light on this for me. thatnks in advance

165gph is pretty slow water movement. I'd want more, definetly. But I like fish and plants 50/50, neither takes presence in my book. They're equally important in my tanks.
If all you need is circulation since your a plant nut () then get some powerheads.
I run two Fluval 304 (260gal/hour) on my 75gal but one is running a external CO2 reactor thru the out flow. I just like clean clear water. When I replant I like the tank to clear up with in a hour. I get good circulation in the tank for my plants. Clean water for my fish. I over kill on all my tanks with filtration. One of my friends has a 75gal and uses the eheim 2026 with out any problems.
ok, well powerheads are out as i want as few things in the tank as posible. ( im going with a in line heater) do you have any recomandations for a filter that would be suficant for a 50/50 plant fish and be atleast as quiet as a mag 350. ps. i only have algie on the plants ferthest from the filter output, adn it wont grow on the glass to which the output is facing. conclousion; algie dont like moving water.
