Hi, I found a good deal on a work horse 6 ballast and I was wondering if I could use it to power two 55-watt PC bulbs. I know the work horse 5 would do it but I’m not sure the workhorse 6 would be able to power the bulbs even though it has a Maximum Power of 140 Watts becaus. Thanks.

I have a Fulham compatibility chart and according to the chart the Workhorse 6 will not work with two 55W lamps. You really need a Workhorse 7 to insure the lamps work correctly. You can also check the website's "Find Your Ballast" calculator.

A lot of people on RC use the workhorse 5 to power two 55-watt PC bulbs. Hopefully I won’t need to get a workhorse 7 since they are more expensive then the workhorse 5 or 6. Which lamp type did you choose on the calculator?

Provided you are lighting two Osram/Sylvania style lamps the Workhorse 5 will work...it's what AH Supply includes with their 2 x 55W kits. The Workhorse 5 will not work with (2) 55W Panasonic style lamps, that would require a Workhorse 7. But your Workhorse 6 will only light one bulb of either style.
