Default DIY: Adjustable Metal Halide

Hi all,

Let me share with you on: "How to build an adjustable MH....CHEAP!"
Hope you like it.

NOTE:
I am from Malaysia, the cost stated here is in MYR (or RM).
1 USD = 4 RM(Malaysian Ringgit). So, you do the math.

1. Buy this commonly found MH set from lighting equipment shop.

2. Insert 150W 6500K Double Ended HQI bulb, RM 5x.
- Do not touch the bulb when handling. Leave no finger print for any CSI.
- Wired the MH set with standard plug. Must be earthed.

3. Install a pair of rail. Get from DIY/hardware shop.
- This is the rail used in shoes shop glass display rack. RM 1x.
- The rail should be made of heavy stainless steel.
You can get a long one (cheaper than 2 pcs) and saw into 2 pcs.
- Drill 2 holes for each rail into the wall, must be deep enough to hold the heavy MH set.
- Use high quality stainless steel screws (1- 1.5 inches). Screw it near the end of the rail.
- Double check if the rail is firmed attached.

4. Buy good a pair of quality hooks. Do NOT use aluminium, use only stainless steel. RM7.xx per piece. Sorry, no photo.

5. Drill holes into the MH set support frame. And also into the hooks.
- Screwed them with fatter screws enough to support heavy weight.
Leave some space for movement.
- See the last few pictures.

6. Hook the whole set nicely into the rail. The stainless steel hooks I bought has extra screw to secure the position.

7. Done. Showtime!
