co2 reactor glue

I just built a similar CO2 reactor to Gomer's but I have some clear acrylic cylinder instead of the clear PVC. In order for the 2" PVC to attach to the acrylic I had to shear off the acrlic with a belt sander. The PVC and acrylic are snug but completely water tight. What glue should I use to make a good seal. I just put some silicone on the outside part because I wasn't sure of the toxicity of the PVC glue to the fish. Would that silicone be sufficient for the reactor and water pressure?

I have a 55 gallon and a new 2126 Eheim filter.

What is the easiest way to attach photos? I would let everyone see it so they understand what I am doing.

Any suggestions? thanks

PVC cement will work. Keep the coat light if it's a good fit, too much will cause hazing on the acrylic and can even crack it if it's thin. Plain acetone or acrylic cement will work, too. As long as the joint is mechanically strong and you're not depending on the cement for anything but water-tightness, any of these will work.

One thing that will NOT work is silicone. It really doesn't bond well to either plastic at all.
