once a substrate has become anaerobic and is producing hydrogen sulfide gas should it be thrown out?

Re: is anaerobic substrate fixable?
I have stripped tanks down and redone the tank when it has happened.
stripped the tank, dried the substrate, then replanted etc..

Re: is anaerobic substrate fixable?
IMO it is. I would wash it in a bucket before reusing.
Is it all of the substrate, or just a part of it?

Or you can give it a healthy disturbance, with your hand or something. MTS can help prevent this in the future.
