Default Dusty surface

I had set up my new 10g on Friday and because I didn't wash off the gravel first, the water's surface looks a bit "dusty" from the gravel when I had filled up the tank. I plan on waiting a bit for the tank to establish before adding my guppies in there.

If the surface still looks a bit dusty when I go to put my guppies in there, could it hurt them any, especially when I go to feed them?

Thank you.

What about using a piece of kitchen paper to mop the dust from the surface of the tank. It's a bit of a messy process, but it has worked OK for me when I've wanted to remove a surface layer of something from a tank.

Wouldn't little bits of the paper towel(I'm assuming that's what you're talking about) end up in the tank? I've never considered trying that before but I'll give it a shot.

Thank you!
