I'm thinking of using one of these on a 20g I'm setting up. Does anyone have experience with these little cans?

Thanks,
Phil

Tsunami and I both have these on own 10g and it produces good current(might be even too much), we just stuffed it with filter floss and didn't use any of the filter media that came with it. I love this filter, the water is so clear. But I would still try a EHEIM classic on your 20g.

Although great for a 10g, the little Zoomed canister is just not strong enough for a 20g. Get yourself an Eheim classic to get decent water flow in there.

Here is a link to a good review of this filter: link

I, too, believe that this filter, although great for tanks between 5 and 10 gallons, is too small for a 20 gallon. Even if one relies solely on the plants for the biological filtration, I don't think that this filter would provide sufficient circulation in a 20 gallon tank.

Thanks guys. I figured that 4x turnover would be more than enough for a 20g. I'm glad I asked before buying it. One more question, do you have the filter level with the tank or under it?

Thanks again,
Phil

it'll be very weak under the tank, it's only 79 gph next to the tank is best.
