Hi Everyone,

I have a 220 gallon in wall tank. This aquarium will be a freshwater tank with just sand and hardscape with rainbows and barbs.

I have an eheim 1500 xl and I could hide the filter tubes somewhat. MAybe use a glass lily pipe for outflow. Or I could add a wet dry. I would have to drill holes on the back of the tank (bottom glass is tempered). My question is whether this would work. I would have a local aquarium guy do. Some aquarium guys here say I would not get enough siphon. Hard plumbing the Eheim seems to risky for me. I am in an apartment and really do not want a flood/leak.

Imo just make your own intake tube from black pvc and it will be decently hidden. Lily pipes could work also. I wouldnt do any drilling just in case...... and youll really need 2 overflows for a tank that big, or else 1 thats like a 3" overflow hole lol
