What plants do well in the higher temps required for Discus? What should I avoid?

Since I would like to get a bunch of plants started at once (to avoid possible algae problems and such), where would you recommend I look to purchase them?

The local pet stores have decent plant stock, but at their prices it would cost me $500+ for the plants to stock that 90.

In my tank they generally grow long stems with smaller leaves at the top. My tank is 18" deep, and I've seen somProe grow 1 or 2 feet out of the tank. blem is that they never get full underwater, and after a while they end up as long leaf stems, with no more leaves in the water. Obviously, I want traditional swords with large leaves underwater. What is the cause of this?

This is a 75g Discus tank, and has 4x65w CF lighting, all 4 bulbs are 6700K. I use CO2, and substrate fertilizers and nothing else at the time. Tank is kept at about 86, with 2 - 3, 25 - 30% changes per week.

I'm assuming that some parameter isn't in range which is causing the abnormal growth. I went down a greenway by my house today (i live in NC), and i found what i believe to be ludwigia repens growing submersed in a ditch. There's a good amount of it, and i'm pretty excited, but i was wondering how to sterilize it. I don't have access to potassium permanganate which i've heard works, so i was wondering if bleach would work.

And also, how should i plant this? I'm trying to grow some now in a lit vase with gravel to see how it does, but if i decided to plant this in my actual tank, should i snip off the tops and plant those? plant the whole stem? or what?

They are maybe a little bigger than a pin head. They are multiplying rather quickly and spreading to other pieces of wood and everywhere else i assume. i dont really see them in the water column, but im sure they are there.

I've poked around on here and havent found a definate answer as to what they are, how they got there, and why they are there. i dont kave a scope, or a magnifying glass.

what is a good way to get rid of them, w/o destroying everything else?
