It has CO2 injection, a decent tank, plants, he says 30 lbs of amazonia soil and a rena filter.

Here was one of the nicest palludarium's I've ever seen a picture of, this was what I was referring to at the meeting and I wanted to share it so that it might inspire some of you to tackle this concept:
http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/paludariums/45485-new-adg-gallery-paludarium.html

I was thinking this type of setup might work for frogs too if it were slightly modified to have a few smooth branches dipping down into the water. I've even seen a few of these that even had discus in them. I think the chameleon is really awesome in that tank above as well. Not to mention that tropical terrestrial plants are readily available and are very cheap additions to this sort of setup.

Niko made a good point at the meeting, that some emergent growth tends to happen in our tanks. I keep amazon swords, and they try to break the surface just about every week. I would imagine they would look amazing if I let them grow to their potential, and I'm sure we could list countless plants that try to do this in our tanks.

Hey everyone. It was good meeting y'all this past weekend. *The good news finally came and the wife and I are moving to McKinney on Saturday the 19th of December. I'd like to beg and cajole as many of you can I can to help us unpack the truck. *The obligatory "tasty beverages" and food will be available to everyone who helps as well as a special offer. That's right, a special DFW locals-only come and get it offer.

Due to school obligations I need to consolidate my many aquariums into one larger one and would like to sell my current 90 and 75 setups to make room and money to buy a setup off a reefer in Ft. Worth. Please help us both out, I want the tank as much as his wife wants it out of the house. :)

90g: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/for/1470467652.html $400.00 for DFWAPC members.

75g: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/for/1470502400.html $500.00 for DFWAPC members. This tank has a black painted foam wall on the back for attaching epiphytes to.

I prefer Paypal purchases prior to moving for your security as much as mine.

Regards,
Phil

I went to my first meeting this past Saturday and had a great time. Met lots of nice folks and saw some very pretty Dart Frogs. When I asked Niko where to get good quality plants, he suggested I ask the members, so that's what I'm doing. :D

I have my CO2 equipment and am purchasing a good T-5 Light set up.

I don't want to spend a fortune at the various fish stores to set this up.

I'm looking for something to cover the bottom such as Baby Tears, some mid height plants, and some tall plants for the back and sides.

Any of you folks have some plants for sale/trade/give?

Thanks.

I was previously a member of the DFWAPC. In fact one of the meetings was to help me set up my take, which I am very greatful. Due to other obligations and hobbies taking up my time, I find that I do not have the time necessary to devote to this aquarium. Does the club know of anyone who might be interested or what is a reasonable price?

125 gallon (no scratches) and wood stained stand
300 watts of light
heater
4 pieces of wood (3 are large)
10# CO2 tank and regulator
CO2 Rio Power Reactor

Thanks.

Basically the pH will go from around 6.8 or 7 down to 5.7 in four or so days, it's been that way for a while.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but I suspect it's because the gravel bed is very deep and there are anoxic bacteria that are consuming some of the water nutrients... ? It's twice what it originally was as I added some to make a tiered shape and that's when it started.

Another factor are the snails that I had in there, I finally sold most of them but having so many pulled considerable amounts of calcium out of the water.

Any thoughts? I hate to dig it all up and start over but it's looking like removing some of the gravel is the only way to deal with this.

Ok - so this would not have happened if we kept up better with the tanks - yet over the past few months routine maintenance has been very light and our Wisteria has “jumped ship” so to speak and grown right out of the top of the tank. The clowns did not like the location of the Wisteria after we moved the Swords and most of it came up yet a few strands landed on top of the tree and rooted into the Java and just took off. We have ripped out buckets of this stuff and it just keeps growing. Enjoy…
