new tank readings
nitrates = 5.0 mg/l
fe = 0.25 mg/l
p04 = 1.0 - 1.5 mg/l
kh = 4.0
gh = 5.0
ph = 6.8
temp = 81.5 (discus tank)

brush algae is all but gone now, used chemi clean at half dose (as someone else on this web did) left in for 48 hrs. did 50% water change after that, (40 gals ro water 20 gals tap water)
added carbon to remove the rest.
see a little green spot alage now
tank looks great for a change
any other suggestion on what needs to be corrected
thanks for all your help

Just curious what is your dosing routine like now? How much KNO3, PO4, and traces are you adding?

my p04 is very high from the tap, i don't dose any, i just watch the levels
also my kn03 is also high in my tap water, if i do need to increase it i use seachem nitrogen and dose as the directions state
i add seachem flourish 3 time a week app 10 ml and also iron app 30 ml depending on the test
i just ordered what youal call pmdd from greg watson and am going to start useing it.
on my next water change i am going to use more tap water to increase the gh and kh a little more. what do you think
thanks
