Hi all,

About a month ago I added 3 American Flag Fish to my algae crew. I understood that they sometimes nibbled on various plants which was fine as long as they did a good job with the algae. Well they have done a good job with algae and my stargrass as well. My poor stargrass looks like it got a bad crew cut. I've watched them tear entire leaves off My concern is when the stargrass is gone they'll move on to another, then another. Has anyone had any similar experiences? Does anyone know if they have preferences for certain plant species? If this keeps up, they'll get a one-way ticket to the LFS..

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My Myriophyllum simulans was destroyed in matter of few days by 3 American-Flag fish. I had to get rid of them.

I had one AFF in a 66 gallon, same as you, he munched on the stargrass hard!
He only lasted 1 week, in that tank!
