Is there a marked difference between Tropica Master-Grow, Seachem Flourish and CSM+B In so far as what they provide to the plants and the ease with which those nutrients provided can be taken up???
I've used all three in both soft and hard water (KH).
CSM+B : Seemed to work for me for a while and then started having some issues. When I switched to Flourish, I saw a big improvement. I still haven't figured out why though; many people seem to have good results with CSM+B...
Flourish: Works well for me in tanks with a KH of around 7-8 or less. In higher KH tanks I get some cloudiness/precipitation. I assume (absolutely no proof; only observation) that the chelator in Flourish doesn't work as well as others in high KH. I have great results with Flourish in the tanks that have a KH of 4-5.
TMG: Solved my Fe and trace fert requirements in high KH tanks. I've also used it in lower KH tanks with good results too (actually in the lower KH tanks I alternate between TMG and Flourish).
Laith, what are the recommended dosing instructions for Tropica Master Grow? (Just curious...)
edit to answer my own question... Did a web search and found it's 5 mL per 50 L (13.2 gallons). I could have sworn I was trying to find this info before and couldn't.
Yes, Tropica's official initial dosing recommendation is 5ml per 50 liters per week and they say to increase this if any Fe deficiencies are visible.
Currently I use about 35ml a week in 200l so not quite double their recommendation.
