Get a dwarf puffer, they eat snails and are great fish. Most people have no problems with the dwarf ones and plants.

Yeah I don't think I am going to go that route. I like the fish I have and i'm not going to get a fish just because of snails. I think I will try something like the cooked lettuce method. Place it in there over night and in the morning remove it. we will see how that does.

take a piece of lettuce and microwave it for a few seconds. Plcae it in your tank just before lights go off. If you need to, put a rock to hold it down. In the morning it should have snails all over it. Then remove it from the tank and throw it away. There go the snails.

That may keep the snail popultion down but it wont eliminate them...
