It depends on your set-up and if you r are high-tech vs. low-tech. Tell us more about your set-up (lighting, tank size, substrate/gravel, type of plants you have or plan on keeping, etc... ).

Liquid ferts are a broad spectrum approach all plants can uptake via there leaves but not all can uptake by roots so without more info liquid is better tho I do both.
