Re: fancy goldies eat.... I have to agree normally very little light is needed, and perhaps, if they're hungry enough they maybe eat in complete darkness to. But normally there's a big difference in goldfish behavior if it's completely dark or if there's ever so little ambient light when the lights go on.
So, my statement should perhaps have been: Goldfish are normally relatively inactive if it is really dark, as in an aquarium in a modern home without strong street lights shining in, or decoration lamps for the people that are asleep to admire, early November probably both in northern CA as in the UK and for sure in Sweden, unless they're really starved, for which case I don't have personal experience.
For all practical reasons Ed, do you think that the level of activity in goldfish is unaffected by the presence of light, or the amount of available light? Do you think they have an activity peak in almost complete darkness? |
