Default What kind of fish for a 10 gallon?

Well i jsut set u pa 10 gallon a week ago. I put a filter on it that was from a diffrent tank and the tank is cycled.
Tank specs...

10 gallon
15w light
20lbs eco complete
lots of rocks

Water peremeters:
-72 degress F
-PH 7.6
-Nitrate 0
-Amonia 0

The tank is cold water since im not heating it but my room is pretty warm so it stays around 72 F.

List of fish that i was thinking of;

-Betta(mom really wants one)
-Red Cherry shrimp
-White cloud minnows
-Panda cory-like 6 of them and a betta?
-guppys

I just wanted to reall pick one fish or just rcs and stay with it since its a small tank but i need advice. I am leaning torwards either a rcs tank only or a breeding tank for panda corys or just a school of white cloud minnows. What do you think i should do?

Plants are anubias and java fern. Thanks for all replys.

White clouds woul dbe my pick, but it's your tank. Make it pleasing to you.

Humm... my two cents...I would pass on the guppies unless you want 1000 of them in you tank this time next year... I have put bettas in ten gal tanks before and unless they have a very large area of non moving water they mine always got sick and die...White cloud minnows and the CRS should be ok together... but I think the cory's would eat CRS, you could try some glass shrimp 1st they are so cheap if they eat them you wont care...and if they dont you'll have a cheaper alternitive to CRS...feed them bloodworms they'll turn red!

According to the temp you have the WCM are about your only choice. Some of the corys enjoy lower temps but I am not sure about the Pandas. Bettas really would like to be much higher as far as the temps are concerned and the Guppies will most assuredly overwhelm the tank very quickly. Any shrimp, will probably be lunch unless they are by themselves if the temp is OK. So Dave and the Plantlady are giving good advice.

The WCMs and shrimp might co-exist if the temp is OK but any fry from either species is probably toast.

Patience is a virtue that stands most aquarists in good stead.

The light might be a little low; do not expect the Anubias to break any records but the Java Fern should be OK.

pandas can live in the lowers 70s and i really wanted pandas but my tanks footprint is really small. Also rcs cna live in lower 60s so they wouldnt be a problem. Can i keep a betta and6 white clouds or would they fight?

REally my only options would be white cloud minnows, rcs, pandas.

i have in a planted 10G a Dwarf anubia and
Java ferns and Cabomba, some Vallisneria spiralis and Cryptocoryne: a male betta, 1 male and 2 female guppy who spawn each every month about about 30 to 50 fry fish,( only 2 or 3 survives the raptors ), 2 coridoras, 3 neons and 1 black neon, one green tetrazona, 1 ancistrus, 10 baby apple snails. No kind shimp will survive there i know that...

Bettas enjoy about 80 or higher and the others do not. The Betta will survive but probably not live the 8 years they are capable of.

Who knows what any given fish will do under any circumstances? The Betta may very well be docile but then again it may become very aggressive.
