On this website on there header they show a fish on there "Fish & Invertebrates" tab. Does anyone know the name of this fish.

I am not familiar with that species but it looks like a Danio or related species. You could always e-mail Robert and ask him the species name.

I think his name is Bob.

I'm pretty sure it's a rainbow shiner, Notropis chrosomus. It's actually a U.S. native species, which just goes to show that fish don't need to come from far-off lands to look pretty in a fish tank. The males are even more stunning in breeding dress.

Notropis chrosomus, That's it thanks!. What a beautiful fish now I can try to find some.

Of course our native sp. likes cooler water. Might not be able to keep in any of my current plant tanks. But they can handle it in the low 70s.

Why not try an unheated planted tank? There are plenty of plants, fish, and inverts that prefer slightly cooler conditions.

I don't run any heaters in my plant tanks. But my lights radiate enough heat to warm my tank above 80F.
I hate to have to break out the old Chiller. I found a source for these Shiners. Just got the plan a cool water planted tank.
